Ms. Golant creates her portrait paintings and drawings in the representational style. She uses water-soluble wax pastels, her preferred medium for paintings, and applies them using the dry or wet technique on acid- free Strathmore paper. Portrait drawings are skillfully executed in the ink or graphite medium. Other works of non-portraiture subjects are inspired by her fondness for Abstract Expressionism. These paintings are also executed with water-soluble wax pastels to express a stylistic rhythm of colorful dynamic qualities. Ms. Golant’s sensitive and insightful works display a commitment for portraying not just the outer likeness of her subjects, but also their character and personality. IN HER OWN WORDS……. "I have been passionate about painting and drawing throughout my life. By the age of ten, I was painting portraits. My quest has always been to capture the person's spirit and uniqueness. Painting allows me to make time stand still and to create a person’s image for posterity." |
